Earth day every day

I’m sure you’ve heard this before- “earth day is every day.” And hey, maybe you haven’t.

The idea here is to treat the earth with love and respect every day of the year. Not just on a deemed holiday. While of course, a little extra love never hurt.

So what does it mean to you to love the earth?

To me this comes down to living with reciprocity & reverence for the earth. And doing my best to align, and realign to this core value time, and time again.

Reciprocity is defined as “creating mutual and balanced exchange in relationships.”

and

Reverence is defined as “a profound emotion combining deep respect, honor and awe often toward sacred, exalted or highly admired subjects.”

Maybe for some it seems that we have no relationship with this earth, that “it” is merely a sphere we inhabit. But I would then wonder if this non-belieiving individual has a relationship with their own home. Do they live in respect for their own house, and for their own belongings. Or do they merely expect their space to provide a service for them outside of any action on their behalf?

Just saying- of course we have a relationship with Earth. This planet is our first and final home, and I hope we can all cultivate a love built on reciprocity & reverence for this rock in space that holds us and sustains us.

Enough earth rant, but- I hope you see my point.

Here are 6 tips to living more sustainably that I firmly believe in:

  1. Eat whole ingredient earth foods! (ya know, FOOD!)

  2. Give thanks to the earth EVERYDAY.

  3. Make your own infused oils instead of buying essential oils.

  4. Do not use or buy herbs that are on the species at risk list.

  5. Reduce purchase of packaged items and become a diy fairy.

  6. Say goodbye to fast fashion & hello to natural fibers.

If this feels new to you. That’s okay! What a beautiful start. The earth is very forgiving and any day is a good day to begin living more sustainably & more in alignment with your truest of values.

with reverence & reciprocity,
